Where are the Camp Burgiss Glen Alumni now?

I was putting together a photo album of the few pics that I have from the wonderful, fantastic days that I spent at Camp Burgiss Glen and asked myself that question. I got what I hope was a bright idea to put something together so that just maybe someday, someway, we would start to find each other.

I will start... I was Susan Godbold (now Susan Stuppnig) and I live in Charlotte, NC. I am the administrator of a small alternative school that serves adolescents with substance abuse issues and on the board of Susan G. Komen for the Cure Charlotte Affiliate. I have been married for 18 years. I was a camper, CIT and Counselor from the late 70's through the mid 80's.

Thanks for sharing the blogspot. I was sorting thru Christmas cards yesterday and found yours - that had the blog. Would love to catch up with more people from our days at Burgiss Glen. Such great memories

1973-1976 (I think that's right) Liz DeNero (now Lively) here. I broke my collar bone first year dancing the jitterbug. My memories of this camp are some of my sweetest! Would love to travel back there and sit once again in the cascades. Let's see: names that spring to mind- Bonnie (Director), Jeannie (Assistant Director), Tishman, Gale Holiday, Laura, Celeste... and though the years don't match, Susan Godbold, I swear I remember your name from somewhere. I'll have to dig deep, but I am sure I have some pics

I'm so happy to find some of you on here. I have been searching for years on the net for some mention of our camp. I went for 5-6 years as a camper from probably 1978-1983. I don't remember a lot of names, but I remember a counselor named Joy. I remember every single tree and rock and root on the trail to the lake, all the salamanders we caught there. I took every class they offered so many times that they finally let me take my favorite, arts and crafts, for all three of my daily activities. I remember hikes through the stream with our old shoes. I remember putting on "Annie", and starring, because I was the only one who knew all the words. I still remember, and sing, the camp songs. Bickety Burgiss Glickity Glen is mickity mighty fickity fine and wickity we are glickety glad we're here, here, here, here....

Wait a second...you are not the Suuuuuusan that was the director (or something)? We used to sing at the end of meals: "Announcements, announcements, annoooouuuuuncements. A terrible death to die, a terrible death to die, a terrible death to be talked to death, a terrible death to die...Announcements, announcements, annoooouuuncements. Announcements by Suuuuuusann???????????"
That wasn't YOU was it?

Has anyone created a site to share photos the the staff, camp and campers? I have some photos from the early 70s I'd like to share. I was Betsy Ross when I was a BG camper.
